A Website Tidy Up

When you’re trying to run a successful business, your website may be the last thing on your list of priorities.

Maybe you’ve got a list of little jobs you keep meaning to do, like updating meta descriptions, sorting out image alt text or uploading new content, but you never quite get around to it.

That’s where I come in.

My website admin service is designed to take care of all those annoying website tasks that can pile up, fall off the to-do list, or simply take more time than you’ve got to spare. Think of it as giving your site a bit of a spring clean.

What does a website tidy-up include?

Every site is different, but typical tasks I can take care of include:

  • Uploading new pages, blogs or images via your CMS
  • Writing and uploading meta titles and descriptions
  • Tidying up headings, formatting and layout
  • Checking for and fixing basic typos or broken links
  • Updating image alt text for SEO and accessibility
  • Adding or improving internal links between relevant pages
  • Ensuring your content is properly structured and easy to scan.

Whether it’s a one-off content upload or a general tidy of multiple pages, I’ll help get things in order. I charge by the hour for this service, starting at £40.

Why does a tidy website matter?

Behind the scenes, small tasks can make a big difference. Making sure your pages have clear meta titles, relevant alt text on images, and properly formatted content can help with:

  • SEO (Search Engine Optimisation)
  • Accessibility
  • User experience
  • Brand consistency.

These things might seem minor, but they can impact how your site performs in search results, how easy it is to use, and how professional it feels to visitors.

A tidy website is a more effective website.

Is this service right for you?

This is a great fit if:

  • You’ve had content written but haven’t had time to upload it properly
  • You know your image alt text or meta data is missing or outdated
  • Your website is feeling a bit messy, unorganised or inconsistent
  • You don’t want to pay agency-level fees for minor updates
  • You just need a helping hand from someone who understands content and SEO.

You can book this as a one-off service or on an ad-hoc basis whenever your to-do list starts to grow again.

How my website admin service works

Step 1: Send me your list

Tell me what you need help with, whether that’s uploading content, improving SEO bits, or tidying up formatting.

Step 2: I’ll take a look

I’ll review your site and give you an idea of what’s involved, how long it will take, and how much it will cost. For larger sites, I may recommend a mini audit first.

Step 3: Relax — I’ve got this

Once we’re agreed, I’ll get to work. I’ll keep you updated along the way and make sure everything is polished, purposeful and in place.

Website admin FAQs

1. Can you access my CMS to make the changes directly?

Yes, if you’re happy to grant me access (either as a user or via temporary login details), I can make updates directly to your site to save you time.

2. What platforms do you work with?

Most of my experience is with WordPress, Squarespace, Wix and Shopify, but I’m happy to discuss others too.

3. Do I need to provide the content?

For uploads, you’ll need to supply the content (or I can write it if you choose a copywriting add-on). For tasks like meta descriptions or alt text, I can create those as part of the service.

4. Can you tidy up my blog archive or old posts?

Definitely. I can update formatting, add metadata, check for broken links, and improve SEO elements across your existing posts.

5. Is this a one-off or ongoing service?

Either. You can book a one-off tidy up, or come back whenever you need help. If you’d prefer ongoing support, we can arrange a monthly maintenance option too.

6. Will this help my SEO?

Yes, in small but meaningful ways. Optimised meta data, alt text and better internal linking can all contribute to improved visibility over time.

7. What do you need from me to get started?

Just a list of tasks and access to your site! If you’re not sure what needs doing, I can carry out a quick review and make suggestions.
