Women’s Health

I’m proud to have worked for some incredible women’s health brands. Brands that advocate for women, that speak for them, that help them.

There’s something incredibly powerful about writing copy for these kinds of brands, and I’m incredibly lucky that I’ve been able to help with and oversee the launch of some wonderful businesses, owned by women and built for women.

Women’s health continues to be a sensitive topic, with many women and girls afraid to talk about periods, menopause, hormonal changes, and more. But it doesn’t have to be, and it feels like there’s a change coming.

I’ve helped brands like Betafem, Lovima, Evana and Private Midwives, each with their own set of commitments to women and with an aim to support women at different stages of their life.

From contraceptive care to holistic wellness and maternity services, I’ve created content that informs, reassures and empowers, always with clarity and compassion at the forefront. Whether it’s educational blog posts, product copy or brand storytelling, my goal is to help women feel seen, heard and confident in their choices.

Betafem

My Betafem content strategy is truly one of the ones I’m most proud of.

Betafem came to the marketing agency I worked for as a new brand with a new product and no website. Their website was designed from scratch, with a specified site structure that was designed completely around content.

They had few product pages and a lot of informational pages and content hubs, where women could learn more about their bodies and get advice.

I helped to create a ‘Need to Know’ section, a sort of blog where all the content sat.

What they wanted

The brand’s primary objective was to increase visibility and drive targeted traffic to their platform in order to support product sales.

What I delivered

I wrote more than 30 articles for the Betafem website, with topics from vaginal itching to bacterial vaginosis.

In 2020, the ‘Need to Know’ content hub and the blog were receiving 0 organic sessions. By January 2021, this had shot up to 20,000 sessions and by June 2021, 40,000 organic sessions.

I absolutely achieved the visibility the client was after, and this content meant they could convert readers into paying customers.

Private Midwives

My work with Private Midwives is an excellent example of how content strategy can work.

The company provided tiered care packages, ranging from Bronze to Gold, tailored to meet varying levels of client needs. Their network of qualified midwives operated nationwide, ensuring accessible support across the UK.

What they wanted

The client wanted me to provide the keywords and headings for their blog articles but they wanted their midwives to write the content. In the healthcare industry, this made perfect sense – who better to write content about birth and labour than midwives?

They wanted more women to sign up for their private midwifery services than use the NHS, and had a particular focus on home births.

What I delivered

There was a significant increase in organic keyword rankings for informational queries such as ‘should I have a home birth?’ and ‘are home births safer than hospital?’. This demonstrated that women were actively researching their birth options, and positioned Private Midwives as a trusted source of guidance at a key decision-making stage.
